Spot Guide: Afternoon Trades in the Bay

Reliable side-shore trades, a reef to respect and the best lunch spot on the island. The wind is most reliable in the afternoon, once the land heats up. Mornings are glassy and perfect for a swim.

Know before you go

There is a reef on the right-hand side of the bay. It is fine at high tide and unforgiving at low tide.

• Hazards: reef on the right at low tide
• Launch: far end of the beach
• Facilities: showers, cafe, paid parking
• Level: intermediate and up

Ask the locals where not to launch. They will tell you, and they will remember you asked.
