Edging upwind on a split board after the first real snowfall. Snow changes everything about kite size. Low friction means a smaller kite pulls you uphill in winds that would leave you stranded on water.
Wide open sand at low tide gave the buggies room to race. The course ran two long reaches and a tight turn at the far flag.
Cold batteries and frozen lines were the biggest problems. We kept spares inside our jackets.
