Parking, showers and a good cafe are all within a short walk. Bring cash for the car park.

Ask the locals where not to launch. They will tell you, and they will remember you asked.

The launch is busy in high season, so arrive early and rig at the far end of the beach. Locals appreciate it.
The short version
The wind is most reliable in the afternoon, once the land heats up. Mornings are glassy and perfect for a swim.

We tried this at our local spot last weekend and it worked a treat.
On a smaller board it is the same idea, just be patient on the lulls.
